Volunteering Hands is all about the passion to make a difference. Included in this is the passion for developing environmentally friendly habits.
The starting point is to discover our own ecological footprint, a measurement and management tool that shows us the reality of our planetary limitation.
So what is the challenge or the goal? It is ‘simply’ sustainability, or society’s demand on nature being in balance with nature’s capacity to meet that demand. If society oversteps the demand it results in ecological overshoot, resulting in climate change, deforestation, species extinction, loss of groundwater amongst many other issues.
Every action we take impacts on the planet’s ecosystem.
By focusing on our consumption of natural resources and generation of waste we are already addressing the key the achieving sustainability.
Volunteering Hands aims to educate and inspire people and communities in green issues.
